Description:

Jeep is an all around great dog!  He loves to play and go for walks.  He came into Safe Haven as a stray, but he knows several tricks already - sit, shake, hi-five, and also loves to give hugs!    Jeep also has shown that he knows how to climb/jump over fences, so he cannot be left unattended outside in the play yards, which means he gets lots of long walks instead.

After several weeks at Safe Haven Jeep's previous owner did contact us and let us know that they could not keep Jeep contained outside at their house either, and he kept running away.  They just couldn't keep him safe anymore, so they did not claim him from the pound when he went missing.  They report that Jeep is a great dog, and they miss him dearly, but they just can't take him back. Jeep has lived with a cat and was fine with that, and is house-trained.  He was used to being outside and inside, and was left unatteneded in the home when the family was not home.

So Safe Haven is going to do everything we can to find Jeep a new home.  Now that he is neutered we are hoping his desire to explore is a bit lessened, and know that some basic obedience classes would help as well.  It also seems to help that he gets at least 2 long walks every day!   He loves those walks and loves to play fetch even more!  He does have a few dogs that he is friends with at Safe Haven, especially his girlfriend Dolly!!  He really is a great dog, and we know he will make some family quite happy!
