Jo has spent the past 6 weeks in a foster home and has made much progress transitioning from an outside dog to indoor living, but still needs a patient person to continue that progress. Here are some notes from her foster mom:

"She initially would not walk over the threshold to come into the house but quickly learned how to use the dog door. We've been working on this and she will come in over the threshold much better. However, she still prefers the dog door. Jo still shies at loud noises, quick movements, and unusual objects, but is getting better warming up to new people with time. She is quite the talker and alert barks at things that go by her yard.

She loves her walks and gets excited at the sight of the leash, tail wagging and dancing around. JoJo likes her kennel and will occasionally go in it for a nap. She sleeps in her kennel all night without any issues. She loves rearranging her blankets to make herself a "bed."

To summarize, she is very friendly, loving and sweet, house trained, kennel friendly, intelligent, sleeps all night, energetic, and lots of potential. Things she needs to work on are not barking at everything, going through doors, leash walking, and following commands."

Jo is good with confident, socialized dogs her size or larger--she has a high prey drive and doesn't do well with smaller dogs. No kids at this time. Jo previously lived in an outdoor kennel, so many things are still new and scary. She is looking for an understanding person, a consistent routine, and a stable environment to continue learning the ropes of being an inside dog! She will give you plenty of love in return.
