Safe Haven of Iowa County

Sophie came to Safe Haven because her owner could no longer care for her, and the family asked us to find her a new forever home.  Her previous owner had her since she was a puppy and said she is supposed to be a Boxer mix....maybe with a Shepherd or maybe even a Puggle???  She sure seems to have a Puggle look to her ears and face - so who knows??  Whatever mix she is, we think she is just great!!

Sophie seems to love everyone she meets, including kids - and really LOVES to have her belly rubbed!  Her previous owner thought she may chase cats??  but got along with other dogs, however so far we have noticed when she meets new dogs that she seem to like or tolerate some more than others.  So we aren't quite sure yet if Sophie needs to be the only dog in a home, or not.  She is still a young dog and has many years of companionship left to offer!
