Halo came into Safe Haven because her family had a baby and when they came home from the hospital Halo growled at the baby.  They really feel she would do best in a home without small children, but reported that she is alright around older kids.  Halo does get along with Hadley, another dog that this family decided they could not keep out of concern for the baby.  Halo reportedly lived with several other dogs, cats and ferrets.  Halo's family also said she enjoyed visiting the dog park.  They got Halo from an Amish farm and know that she is from a Blue Heeler mix, and they thought Shepherd mix.

Halo seems to love all the volunteers that she meets, and her favorite toys are anything that squeeks and also loves rope toys and rawhide bones. Halo's family said she is crate trained and housetrained, but loved to sleep in bed with them at night or on a dog bed.

Halo does know sit, but needs some basic obedience training.  She loves going on walks, but really needs to learn leash manners.  Halo is a fun loving dog, and would really do best with an active family - someone to run with, or a large fenced in yard to play in.  She does enjoy playing with Hadley, but does play pretty aggressively - and while at Safe Haven she hasn't really made any other dog friends, but living in a shelter is a pretty high energy area and hopefully once she is adopted and can relax a bit more, she may be fine with other dogs.
