Meet Miley - a very happy young lady! She came to Safe Haven as a true "package deal" as she also has 8 pups that she is still caring for. These Pointer/ Black Lab mix puppies will be available for adoption on July 1st.
Both Miley and her puppies are living at a foster home, and will not be at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting either Miley or a puppy, a visit to the foster home will need to be arranged.
Safe Haven received a call in early June from Miley's owner asking us to please help him out. Unfortunately her owner just couldn't care for her and her pups any longer, and he loves Miley so much that he asked us to help find her a perfect home. He has had Miley from the time she was a pup, and says she is totally housebroken and just a great companion. He did hunt with her a few times last fall, and although she hasn't had any formal training, he said she will point. She does love all birds (including robins and sparrows, etc.) and has a very strong instinct to watch and likely chase them. Miley will be a great companion for someone, but she does need someone that can teach her how to walk nicely on a leash, and other basic obedience.
