We would like to formally introduce to you, Jenny! Jenny came to us from an overcrowded animal shelter in Oklahoma where they weren't able to keep her due to their number of intakes and capacity - Jenny also had a medical concern of a badly injured hind leg. She was removed from a poor living situation in Oklahoma and was not getting the care she needed as a young pup - her past care team thought maybe she was hit by a car which caused her broken hind leg, but unfortunately she had received no vet care.

Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids, a non-profit that pays for shelter pets to get advanced medical care, urgently asked us to take this sweet gal in so she could get the medical attention that she desperately needed and deserved! Since being a part of the Safe Haven and Critter Crusaders family, Jenny has had multiple appointments and surgery at Blue Pearl Pet Hosptal in Des Moines.  They confirmed she had on old femoral fracture that had completely healed on its own..... but not properly.  While it was still functioning, her medical care team decided it was best for Jenny to have surgery performed to help heal the hind leg properly. She has been on exercise restrictions for the last couple months, but she is so ready to shine bright with her new self! Her recent X-rays show the hind leg is fully healed and functioning much better -  which means she's ready for her new forever home and adoption!!

Since being at the shelter, Jenny has not been able to play/socialize much with other dogs due to her restrictions. She has been near and around other dogs, she really just wants a friend! She is still a young girl yet so much of the puppy training for Jenny would be necessary. She is very smart and would love to have someone lay out and enjoy the sun with her any day -- this has been one of Jenny's favorite things to do while passing time during her recovery!
