Safe Haven of Iowa County

Meet Sinatra! This handsome boy came to us as a stray via the Iowa County Pound and was never claimed. He is a very loving character - and who couldn't love those bright blue eyes?!  We aren't quite sure what he is a mix of  - looks like maybe a Lab/Pittie/Husky mix??? He is always eager to please and very treat motivated!  Sinatra gets very excited to go on walks and does jump on you and even bite at the leash, etc - so he can be a handful at times for some of our smaller volunteers.  Once he is leashed up and outside - he has much better manners so we know he just needs someone with some large dog experience that can help him be the great dog he is learning to be.  

Being a larger boy and quite strong - Sinatra would do great in a home where he can have space and go on many walks with an owner that is as strong as he is. As we have learned more about Sinatra we wanted to be sure to share! He recently went for a home trial period, he settled in very well with the young family and the other larger young dog in the home. They learned very quickly that he was overly fascinated with the cats in the home and would not leave them be, before anything serious happened to Sinatra or the cats, they decided it was best to return him to Safe Haven with all hopes in place to find him the perfect forever home with no cats.
