Timber is an intelligent, gorgeous, healthy 8 year old German Shepherd who would love to meet you!  She spent the first 7 years of her life as an outside farm dog, but due to a death in the family she found herself needing a new home.

Timber is such a pretty girl that has so much love to give!  She loves to be on the go, then cuddle in for a nice quiet nap.  Timber takes a little while to get used to her surroundings, but once she is comfortable she is very loving, fun and talkative.  She has very good manners, is gentle, and enjoys being with her people  - but also enjoys having down time by herself. She is content to be in your company, go on long walks, and play out in the yard - all she asks is to be the only pet in the home.

When Timber first came to Safe Haven in December, she was pretty nervous and reactive to other dogs in the stressful shelter environment, triggered by all the barking and sights of all the other dogs.  This nervousness subsided once she was adopted by an amazing family back in January, that loves her dearly and patiently taught her how great life can be as an inside dog.

Timber settled nicely into her new home, and does well with their older children in the home. She has learned all about the sights and sounds of living inside, but can still startled by new sounds.  This loving family really showered her with the TLC she needed to transition into a wonderful inside dog and they report her being perfect in every way.....except sadly over the months of settling into her home, it has also become obvious that Timber is very dog aggressive.  She cannot be around other dogs on walks, at the vet office, bording facility, etc.  - after talking with a dog trainer they realized she needs a home in a quiet neighborhood without any neighborhood dogs to worry about.  Currently the family struggles to be able to even walk Timber safely because of all the other dogs in the neighborhood :(  So a nice quiet home away from neighbors with dogs, or even a home in the country (living as an inside dog) where she has space to run and play safely, would be perfect for Timber.

We have so much wonderful information from Timber's current family about what Timber needs to succeed in her forever home, so if you would be interested in learning more or meeting Timber, please contact us!

Because Timber was mainly an outside dog her whole life previously, and she is so looking forward to the indoor life now! Despite her past, she has good manners indoors and is house-trained.

If you lead an active lifestyle and have a lot of love to give to a faithful companion, apply to meet Timber today!
