Rat Terrier (short coat) : : Female : : Senior : : Small
Lexi (right in photos) was a transfer from another rescue in Iowa with her bff, Taven. These two were facing euthanasia before the rescue pulled them. They are lovable, incredibly cute, spunky Rat Terriers! On their intake exam with the vet, they were found to be in good health, although each dog has a grade II heart murmur - but this does not currently require any medication or treatment, instead just something that will need to be monitored at their regular vet visits. Taven is much more outgoing and social with strangers, while Lexi is a bit more reserved until she gets to know you. Even at almost 9 years old, Lexi has plenty of energy and acts like a pup. She is reportedly fine with other dogs but doesn't appreciate dogs who don't respect her space. Terriers need lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep them busy. We would love for Lexi to find a home with Taven so they can stay together!
