Quinn is a 20lb rat terrier mix and somewhere between 14-16 years. She originally came in with her son, Caesar, but he was adopted into a home with a kiddo to keep him active and happy. Quinn on the other hand is needing a quiet retirement home.  Originally these two were seized from a neglect situation in Missouri, taken to the local pound, and were facing euthanasia after living there for two months--all before being transferred to Safe Haven.

Quinn seems to have lost some of her hearing and sight, but sure can sniff out a hot dog treat still! Once she made it to Safe Haven, we noticed she has a pretty prominent cough - and sadly she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF) and a grade 4 heart murmur. She is on a couple medications to help keep her comfortable and improve her quality of life, but really we are hoping for a "hospice" type adoptive home - she just really deserves to know the love and comfort of a home for whatever time she has left.  Quinn is a pretty independent dog, she mostly loves to sniff around her surroundings and take long naps on her bed!  As is pretty typical with dogs of her age (not to mention she is on a water pill to help keep fluid from building up) Quinn does struggle with incontinence - so in a home she will need frequent potty breaks and may need to wear a diaper to help limit accidents.

If necessary Safe Haven may be able to continue helping with some of her medical needs, and we would certainly love to discuss that with anyone interested in showering this senior lady with TLC.
