Safe Haven of Iowa County

Baloo was a stray found in Williamsburg, and spent several days at the local vet office waiting for his family to come claim him and take him home.  Unfortunately they never came, so Safe Haven was asked to take Baloo in. 

Baloo is a super friendly fella, and loves everyone he meets.  He has now been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, Heartworm tested (negative) and dewormed - all to get him ready for adoption.  While at his vet appointment, the vet assessed his gait/walking because several volunteers had commented Baloo seems reluctant to walk at times while out on leash.  It was also noted that he almost seemed to move a little stiff in his hips and rear legs at times.  So the vet recommended that Baloo visit a specialist to be evaluated and make sure he didn't have any physical concerns that we needed to know about.  At this appointment on September 30th, it was determined that Baloo is healthy and his hips and knees are working fine - no issues were found.  So after receiving all good news, we are moving forward with trying to find Baloo his forever home!
