Description:
Sky is such a unique dog with a striking appearance - we just love her ice blue eyes and the coloring of her coat - her spots seem to be a pretty silver and tan. The vet's best guess for breed is an Australian Shepherd / blue merle Heeler mix, she is around 1&1/2 years old and just the perfect medium size at 40 pounds.
Sky arrived to Safe Haven on April 25th on a ground transport from Missouri. She was a stray that came into the Pound at Albany, Missouri. With no local shelter for Sky to be transferred to, Safe Haven was asked if we could take her in, and we could not be any more smitten with her. We are still getting to know Sky, but it appears she has substantial hearing loss, and is likely deaf. This is often seen in dogs with blue eyes that also have a white/blue merle coat. Sky seems to like other dogs, and really loves everyone she meets! She is young and quite active - she loves long walks or going for a jog, so a perfect family for Sky will be an active family that is dedicated to training and living with a dog that has hearing loss.
