Safe Haven of Iowa County

Eddie is a sweet little long haired Dachshund who lost his previous home because he can no longer tolerate small children.  He does not understand why they want to poke at  him and pull hair and ears and dart around unexpectedly.  In fact there were several instances of him nipping children.    He does understand laps, quiet times, staying home (not car rides), leash walks, playing fetch with a ball or rope endlessly and especially laying next to his human on a sofa.  

        We have learned that he acts like he does not want to meet you when he first encounters a stranger---but that stranger status lasts only a couple of minutes and he is transformed back to wanting to be a snuggler.   

         Eddie was much loved and well taken care of in his past home but he has to move on because the lady of the household has a day care business and he does not like being kenneled and isolated either.

        He is up to date on his vaccines, neutered and microchipped and there is nothing keeping him from finding his new home now.   Please do not waste time before you apply if you are interested because the applications will pour in fast and we will have to just stop receiving any in order to process the ones received at some point soon after posting.
