Franny came to Safe Haven on an all-volunteer program called "Pilots-N-Paws" where she and her sister Ellie were flown on a series of 4 flights on Sunday, November 24th - all the way up to Iowa from Texas!!
Nobody can understand how they were overlooked for adoption while in their foster home for several months, but their loss could be your gain! Safe Haven was asked to take on these 2 girls, in order to create space in the foster home to save more dogs still sitting in a Texas shelter, where their future may be unknown.
The foster mom did say she felt Franny and Ellie were not deeply bonded, and actually would be okay adopted separately, as adopting two may seem a tad overwhelming to most families. And in fact, we have already seen that the girls do like to have their own space and their independent side is already coming out. They were quite timid when they first arrived - but once they get comfortable and settled, they are super sweet. Franny does seem to be a bit more outgoing than Ellie. The foster mom reports that they are housebroken, crate trained, and would love an active family to call their own - their only special need in a home would be a home without cats.
