Safe Haven of Iowa County

Callie came to Safe Haven on September 14th, via an over-crowded shelter in Houston, Tx - where luckily the shelter pulled her and put her into a foster home. She was safely transported to Iowa on a transport van that brought 42 dogs from Houston up to a variety of shelters in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.  Safe Haven is so happy to be able to play a part in getting this wonderful dog a new forever home! 

Callie is 2 years old and the vet in Texas states that she is a Lab mix, but naturally that is just a guess. She is very sweet and smart - and would be great for an active family that is willing to continue her obedience work because she does still like to jump up to greet you, and is learning nice leash manners yet.  Callie has been fine around kids, and can be selective on which well-socialized dogs she gets along with, she is crate trained and house broken. 

She seems to love every person she meets, but does not do well with kitties.
