Bonnie was brought in to Safe Haven as a stray from Iowa County. She had one of the worst cases of a flea infestation that we have seen in a few years - and was also very thin. Bonnie has been nothing but a total sweetheart, loving everyone that has showered her with TLC. She seems to be housebroken as she keeps her kennel very tidy, and has nice manners while cuddling on the couch! Having her belly rubbed is definitely a favorite pastime for Bonnie :)
Bonnie has gained weight steadily and was recently healthy enough to endure her 2 hour surgery to be spayed, a mammary mass removed, and some needed dental work (front 12 teeth all pulled) - so she is now placed up for adoption! Unfortunately the tumor removed from Bonnie's mammary chain was sent in for analysis, and did come back as cancer :( Luckily it was a grade 1 tumor, not known to be overly aggressive and as long as her family continues to monitor her closely, she could continue on to live a great long life - which everyone that has met her knows she 100% deseves nothing less than a long happily ever after!
Bonnie seems to like dogs smaller than her, but seems to not like bigger dogs. If you are interested in adopting Bonnie, we do ask that other dog(s) in your home come to Safe Haven and see if they hit it off with Bonnie.
