Remembering Our Beloved Pets:

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

- Excerpt from the "Rainbow Bridge" (inspired by a Norse Legend)

Although you are gone, you shall not be forgotten...

Doodle Bug
Doodle Bug passed away at 16 days old. He struggled to eat, but was strong and so very sweet. He had a problem with swallowing and getting the milk to go down the right tube and into his stomach instead of his lungs. He was very tiny and only weighed 4 ounces. He was able to open his eyes and see and feel the love that was shared between he and his siblings, his mom and foster mom. He is missed by all! In the picture he was in the bed my kids made up for him to be comfortable so I could keep an eye on him and his mom could come and lay beside him. We buried Doodle Bug in his comfy bed and know he is resting peacefully at Rainbow Bridge.

Patience
Patience was everything that her name said she would be. She was rescued by a wonderful volunteer after her "owners" let her breed over and over again, resulting in an infected uterus. Had this volunteer not acted immediately, Patience would have lost her life several years ago. This beautiful, elderly kitty (she was around 14 years old) lived at Safe Haven for over a year before suffering from shelter fatigue. It was at that time I knew she needed to come home with me. She lived the last year and a half at my home loving life. She had a family, windows, and a soft bed to sleep on. Unfortunately, Patience developed breast cancer at the end of her life that spread to all mammary glands on the left side of her body. We decided to end her suffering on July 23, 2011. You will always be missed Patience! Love you!
