Safe Haven of Iowa County

Josie likes attention and car rides, loves walks and is very good on leash.  She seems to get along beautifully with the volunteers at the shelter, however, she went on a home visit with a nice family and nipped the male human in the household. We are not sure if this was a one time incident, or perhaps Josie has some discomfort with certain males, but it would probably be best if she were adopted by a family without children and with males that are willing to take things slowly with her to win her confidence. She definitely has the Schnauzer look and coat, so she will need a family that can handle her grooming needs. Josie really enjoys the company of some other small dogs at the shelter, but not all.
