Description: Puppers had been eluding her capture for months in the small town of Marengo. Scared of people she was very difficult to catch. We discovered she had had 6 puppies and was living under an abadoned house. The puppies were found by local townspeople wandering the streets. All 6 were saved and adopted into loving homes. Puppers was caught and brought to safety several days later. She is making amazing progress and even though afraid has never shown any signs of aggression towards people. She loves other dogs and lives with several which seems to help her in relation to the people who care for her. When she first came we had to carry her out to the play arenas - after two weeks she is now walking on leash right next to us. An amazing story of survival and hope. Puppers is currently only availabe for sponsorship as we continue to work with her and rehabiliate her to be ready for a loving home. Recently, Puppers had to have an abscessed tooth removed at the emergency vet clinic, but she is doing well with her medication. It was expensive, but don't the animals deserve the best???
