Applicants must fill out an application before visiting the puppy. Puppy C is loyal, devoted, attentive, playful, full of energy, and a pure joy to have. Those puppy eyes will melt your heart. He was rescued on May 15th at aprox 6 weeks of age from running on the highway in Marengo. There were a total of 6 puppies found scattered through a several block area. The others have been adopted. He had his 1st set of puppy shots May 15th. He will need a 2nd set of puppy shots at 16 weeks of age and neuter at 5 months of age. Mandatory neuter contract required. He has been started on Heartworm preventative and frontline. His schedule is very time and labor intensive. He sleeps 2- 3 hours at a time then immediatly has to potty. He doesn't sleep more than 3 hours at a time at night. He is doing well with crate training at night and wakes his foster family up when he has to potty by whining or barking. They have his little kennel on the bed since he is still so young and needs to be near his "pack". He starts the night off inbetween his furry foster family and by midnight goes into his kennel on his own. Puppies require as much as a new born baby and applicants need to be able to provide all that is needed and be willing to give up on solid sleep for the next several weeks. He will need a lot of socialization to raise him to a well rounded and social dog. He requires ALLOT of chew toys and fluffy plush toys. He loves to play, chew and sleep with them. Adoptive families should not leave him for more than 2-3 hours at a time in his kennel. He is small and can't hold his bladder for more than that. Preference given to families who can fulfill this either through puppy daycare or who will be home most of the time. He does great with kids, dogs, cats! He craves another dog to play and sleep with but isn't required. He needs a higher energy dog that loves to play and run. He is a bit much for a laid back older dog. He would do great with children 5 and over who can play with him. Please no families with children under 5. He is figuring out however that cats run when you bark and that means it's fun to chase. Corgi's and Austalian Shepards are hearding dogs and will need a "job" to do to keep healthy and happy both physically and emotionally. Puppy C will be an active little man when he is grown up. He is very vocal as most Corgi's are and will tell you all about it when he needs something. Apartment or Condo living wouldn't be advised for the noise level. But that little bark is all too cute right now! Visit his personal website for more pictures.
