Okay Okay you got me...no I am not a Basset, but shhh I won't let the other hounds around here know. The name's Hunter and I was brought into rescue last December. I was found outside a grocery store during a snow storm and brought to the local shelter. At the time I was just a wee one, only 8-9 weeks old and to be honest the shelter thought I looked like a little Bagel, you know a Basset mixed with a Beagle. HHBR decided to take me in and help me find home, which I did. I went to the most wonderful home with my Beagle brother and my Mom. Unfortunately Mom's living arrangements changed and she was no longer able to keep me & she kindly asked HHBR to take me back in and hopefully find me home once again. Well when I got here and now that I'm all grown up, guess what I'm not at all a Basset...huh guess I fooled them =) But trust me being a Basset isn't all it's cracked up to be...see a Beagle/Hound Mix, what I am, doesn't drool, I certainly don't howl a whole lot & since I have a little bit longer legs I can reach a few more places than those stinky low riders. I get along fabulously with all my current Basset brother's and sister's and to tell you the truth I'm having a time of my life being the life of the party. Mom says I just the kind of kid you'd want to hang out with all the time. I'm a very good natured, easy going boy & I have to thank my previous Mom for making me who I am, she did a great job raising me right. I am house trained and ask to be let outside, I've also learned the whole doggy door thing & got that down pat. I would really prefer to go to a home with a secure fenced in yard, you see when Mom & Dad went outside the fence here I didn't want to be without them and up and over I went..I tell you those long legs come in handy for things =) I am UTD on all vaccinations, on monthly Heart Worm preventative, De-flead, de-wormed, microchipped and altered. Please remember Every animal for adoption through an Hounds Haven is fully vetted for their age and only needs routine preventive care. Dogs older then 6 months of age are heartworm tested! All dogs are kept on heartworm preventative. Every hound is vaccinated (age appropriate), and de-wormed,microchipped in addition to being spayed/neutered. We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to us lining up an appointment for them to see the hound(s) at the hound(s)' home.
