Zeus is a soon to be 2 year old corgi. He is quite shy at first but once he warms up he loves to cuddle and loves to play. He came from a loving home where he was taught basic obedience but unfortunately Zeus has a very strong herding instinct with children. Zeus was not aggressive but he did feel the need to control things when the children were playing with each other or interacting with their parents. The family was not able to train this out of him and sadly came to the realization that Zeus would probably be better off in a home with a smaller family and older children, or no children at all. Because of this we also think it is very important that Zeus not go to a young couple or person that will be anticipating starting a family in the future as we don’t want him to ever have to be rehomed again.

Zeus is fine with cats and he is non-aggressive towards other dogs. He is crate trained. Potential adopters must be willing to continue with crate training, but should not have to leave Zeus in a crate for long periods of time. Zeus in not 100% potty trained but he is very close and should do well with a set schedule. He is still a pup in many ways and crate training also helps him to not get into mischief if left alone.

It is strongly preferred that anyone interested in adopting Zeus have good knowledge of the Corgi breed. Corgis are generally not good dogs for people with little dog experience.

Zeus is neutered, utd on vaccines, and has been on monthly heartworm preventative. Adoption fee for Zeus will be $125, with the proceeds going to Safe Haven of Iowa County. Zeus will come with several of his own supplies.

Zeus must go to an indoor home. Adopters will be screened carefully.
