Meet Brownie, a truly sweet and loving boy who came to us as a local stray and is now ready for a fresh start! This handsome fella is estimated to be around 4 years old and we believe he is likely a Hound blend (?), and we recently learned Brownie would do best in a home without cats. While he passed his "cat scan" at Safe Haven while we walked him into several of our cat rooms, when he was on a home visit with a potential new family he unfor found the allure of chasing the kitties just too much fun :( 

Brownie has a deep desire to be around people and is inherently affectionate. However, he tends to be a bit cautious; he can be timid at first and has shown to be easily startled by loud, sudden movements and noises. He is making great strides in gaining confidence and is slowly learning to embrace his happy, comfortable self. This resilient boy would thrive in a welcoming, patient home where he can be given a predictable routine and the space to slowly gain confidence. A calm environment will help him feel safe and secure.

Brownie recently attended an event for the Holidays where he enjoyed mingling with both people and the other dogs, handling the close proximity and excitement like a true gentleman.
