Meet Ryder, a truly magnificent and highly intelligent young dog eagerly seeking his expert forever home. Estimated to be around 10 months old, Ryder is believed to be a mix of Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherd, a heritage that gives him an incredible amount of drive, focus, and energy. He came to us as a stray, and while he is sweet and affectionate underneath that youthful vigor, he is not a dog for the faint of heart or a first-time owner.

True to the nature of his lineage, Ryder is a boy dog who requires more than just standard care; his energy level can be intense, and he needs a home environment that is prepared to safely manage and channel his inner working-dog characteristics through demanding activity and consistent training. This means simple walks won't cut it—Ryder thrives on structured physical activity like running and advanced training, and he absolutely loves getting outdoors, becoming a much more relaxed and happy companion once he's had the chance to truly exhaust his body and mind.

He has demonstrated instances of food aggression (resource guarding), a common trait in high-drive breeds, so his ideal home will have verifiable experience managing and modifying these behaviors using positive reinforcement and consistent structure. Management, such as feeding him alone in a secure crate or area, will be crucial for his success and safety. We are looking for a dedicated, experienced owner who understands the demanding needs of Malinois and Dutch Shepherds, one who can provide a structured daily routine, commit to ongoing advanced training (like agility or scent work, as his mind needs a job!), and offer clear boundaries.
