Description:

Meet Nick, an adorable, purebred Cocker Spaniel gentleman with a heart of gold. At around 8 years old, Nick is ready to take on his next adventure in life while in search of a loving home where he can be cherished. He recently came into our care as a stray found near the Koszta River access, and while we've learned he had a previous owner, they made the tough decision to let us help him find a safer, more suitable forever family.

Nick is a sweet soul who simply loves his people and wants to be near them. His previous owner let us know of his need for constant companionship and his tendency to run away when left alone. This means Nick is looking for a very specific type of home: one where his family is around often and he wouldn't need to be left alone for long periods of time. If you work from home, are retired, or simply have a lifestyle that allows you to have your dog by your side most of the time, you might be the perfect fit for Nick!

Nick spent his most recent time living outside as a farm dog, so he's still learning how wonderful life inside can be. He can be a bit timid of some men at first, but with slow, gentle introductions and a calm approach, he quickly warms up and becomes a loving, affectionate companion to everyone. He just needs a little patience and reassurance as he adjusts to new environments and people.

Nick is currently finishing up some treatments to ensure he's feeling his best. He tested positive for Lyme's disease, but don't worry—he's already on the road to recovery! He will be sent home with his 30-day course of antibiotics that his adopter will need to continue administering. He also had a double ear infection upon arrival, which has been treated with a longer-lasting antibiotic application in both ears to help with any discomfort. His classic Cocker Spaniel ears will need regular cleaning and care to keep him happy and healthy moving forward.

Nick is a wonderful dog who has so much love to give. He is truly a devoted companion who deserves a quiet, attentive home where any separation anxiety can be managed through love and presence, and where he can relax and enjoy his golden years by your side.

If you have a tranquil environment and a schedule that allows you to be Nick's companion, please consider applying to give this handsome, gentle boy the life he's always deserved! An adoption application can be found and submitted right here on our website, www.wesavepets.com.
