Meet Bernie! This sweet pup, estimated to be just over a year old, came to us as a stray in need of some serious TLC. He was found terribly matted, in such a condition that left him in much discomfort. Since arriving, Bernie has undergone a transformation, getting a much-needed shave to remove all the mats and give his beautiful coat a fresh start. He must feel so much better now, and his playful personality is truly starting to shine!

Bernie is likely a Poodle mix, and we've been calling him our "Bernedoodle," (best guess) which seems to fit him perfectly. He's an active and eager boy who loves to go, go, go! We think he'd do best in a home that can keep up with his energy and provide him with daily walks and plenty of enrichment activities to keep his busy mind engaged. Once outdoors and on a mission to sniff all the smells, he does well on his leash, making him a great companion for a hiking buddy or someone who enjoys exploring.

Although Bernie came to us with no known history, we do know that he is ready to learn and grow. He's looking for a family with patience and dedication to help him with some of the basics, like obedience training and continued leash manners to help him learn how to be the best boy he can be. With a consistent routine and a gentle hand, we know Bernie will blossom into a wonderful and loyal companion. **Bernie has been brought up-to-date on his vaccinations and heartworm bloodwork testing, but is awaiting his neuter surgery. We anticipate this to take place within the next week, so we are estimating him to be ready for adoption around 10/3/25.
