About Gabbie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Adoption Fee: $250
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: 23-2491
  • General Color: Black
  • Current Age: 1 Year 2 Months (best estimate)

Gabbie and her three adorable sister littermates came to Safe Haven after another local animal shelter reached out asking for help with a local request of an accidental litter. The total litter of 8 puppies was a lot to take on all at once, so Safe Haven was able to help them out by taking in four of the eight puppies. These gals are about 8 weeks old. Their mother is a Patterdale Terrier about 20lbs. Their father is a Husky/Heeler/Patterdale Mix about 40lbs. What an adorable mix! They are not quite released for adoption or visitors yet - but will be ready in about two weeks once they have been cleared.

To begin their puppy training as soon as possible, a spay contract will be signed at the time of adoption. The contract will be signed stating the puppy must be spayed by a given date, either by scheduling an appointment to bring the puppy back to Safe Haven for the spay or by utilizing the adopter's primary vet clinic and sending documentation proof of spay to us at Safe Haven. The adoption fee will be the same ($250) which ever way the adopter chooses to have the surgery completed. All of these puppies are vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and are on track for a long healthy life with their forever families.

Their ideal family will be committed to taking a puppy obedience class right away to get started on the right foot - they will need a family that can commit to continue proper socialization and also all the work that goes into house-training a puppy, which requires a lot of patience and persistence with working on a schedule. Puppies need to be taken outside frequently - as often as every 4 hours in the beginning. So an ideal home for these puppies will be one where they won't have long periods of time during the day spent alone, so they can have the best chance of successful housetraining and have years of wonderful love and devotion to focus on!

If you are interested in adopting Gabbie or one of her littermates please fill out an adoption application as the first step of the adoption process. Once the application has been approved, a volunteer will be in contact to set up a meeting/adoption time.
