Meet Blu, a handsome 5(ish)-year-old boy with a heart of gold. This charming gentleman, previously known in his younger puppy days as "Walnut", recently found himself back with us at the shelter after a difficult situation and serious altercation with his canine housemate. While this situation was instigated by the other dog (Lola) in the home, the difficult decision was made to return both dogs due to the concern of any further injury and for the safety of those living in the home. Blu's former family adored him, describing him as "the best boy" with "an old soul," and it's clear he was a cherished member of their family. Now, Blu is looking for a patient and loving home where he can once again be the center of someone's world.

Blu is a sensitive boy who appreciates a calm and predictable environment. He's also a bit sensitive to loud noises, but a little reassurance goes a long way. While he has been generally more comfortable with women, he will warm up to men with time, positive reinforcement, and a gentle approach.

Blu is an incredibly loyal and loving companion. His former family raved about how much he loves to sunbath outside, go for walks and car rides, and how he knows just about any "trick" in the book (sit, shake, lay down, spin, speak, and whisper). Blu is sure to be a wonderful partner for someone who loves to spoil their pup with both affection and fun activities. They also mentioned that he is house trained and is trained to go to the door when he needed to go outside.
