Safe Haven of Iowa County

Sophie is such a ladylike mature girl.    She came to us as a relinquishment from a gentleman who had taken great care of her but who is now unable to take her to Florida with him over the winters and no longer has a home for her here in Iowa.

She does not hunt -- if there is not a gun involved.   But he tells us she will hunt if there is no gun around.  Her favorite actiities are to play with her toy and to hunt in the grass.   Here at the shelter she is proving to be very loving and so easy to get along with.   All the noise and barking that bothers other dogs are not upsetting to her.  She will wait quietly on her bed until someone comes to the front of her kennel at which time she will bring them her toy varmint as if though she has retrieved it for them.   She really enjoys any love and attention that is passed out to her --- and since she is such a lady it is easy to want to show her that love.
