Safe Haven of Iowa County

Nova and her sibling, Duke,  came to us from a home with two young girls who adored them.  We were asked to find them new homes through no fault of the dogs but changing family situation.   

They are an interesting mix of Labrador and Catahoula / Poodle.   Both dogs are fun loving and friendly and have tails that seem to wag all the time---often in unison.   They have been used to living in the home for the most part with some fenced yard time.

Nova has an interesting coat texture almost like a wire haired breed that makes her even more charming.  She has not quite realized she is not lap-dog sized and will welcome anyone sitting on the floor so she can sit in their lap.    In some of the pictures you can notice that her fur around her eyes has been shaved in order to take a few stitches in the eye-lid area to correct an issue with the base of the lashes turning in and  irritating her eyes.
