Safe Haven of Iowa County

Description:
Speedy spent the first year of his life on a chain with his sister Princess.  He looks like he might not be friendly, but don't let his looks fool you!  He is a big sweetheart, and has won over the hearts of the Safe Haven volunteers.  His sister was just adopted, and I know he misses her, but he is doing really well making new friends to play with.  He truly loves to play in the snow which must be that Husky in him! 

When Speedy first arrived at Safe Haven he had so much energy, and loved dragging us all on our walks with him.  He now is doing so much better on the leash and has mastered the sit command when waiting for a treat!  Speedy doesn't seem to bark much which is great.  He gets along with some of our other Safe Haven dogs, but does like to be the "top-dog" so he should be fine with other non-dominate dogs. He absolutely loves human attention and is fine with cats.  One of his favorite things is to have his tummy rubbed! 

He does great about not making any messes in his kennel area so he seems like he would be easy to house-train.  In a recent weekend stay at a foster home Speedy did great and didn't have any accidents in the house - they crated him when he couldn't be supervised and Speedy did quite well!

Speedy would make a great addition for a family that either lives in the country or has a large fenced yard in the city.  If you like to jog and would like a great dog to keep you company, please come and take a look at this super sweet dog.
