WE NEED YOUR HELP!

I hate even sending this email but its important that you all know Safe Havens dire situation. We need your help to keep our doors open to continue the work that we all know is important.

Donations have been at their all time lows this summer. Financial donations, "item" donations such as food etc and our volunteer hours are way down. And it has caught up with us.

Our board is meeting next week to determine the future of Safe Haven. I hope to be going to that meeting with a bunch of ideas and plans. I don't mean to scare you all but we are at a rather scary place. Luckily the bills were paid this month BUT there is just enough to pay payroll next week and that's it. There won't be enough money to pay any payroll or bills for next month.

Our vet fund is down to 500.00 and we owe 8000.00 between 4 vet clinics. All vet apts will be for emergencies only going forward until we can get back on stable ground.

We are in collections for the Amerigas LP because we were paying 200.00 a month on a "budget plan" which wasn't enough to cover the latest in lp price raises but we were not notified of the increase. We have set up a payment plan for 4 months at 500.00 per month in order for it to not go to collections. This in itself is going to be a struggle.

We have not been able to finalize the feasibility study because we owe 3,500.00 to cover that. We were hoping we would get more financial support than what we did.

We have some serious decisions to make that could affect all of our lives as well as the animals that we have fought so hard to save. It may require that we reduce our paid staff hours and go to one shift a day instead of 2 because we don't have enough volunteers to cover the shifts.

It may mean closing our doors all together.

We need action and we need it fast - We need fundraising, we need more volunteer hours and we need prayers to keep our doors open.

If you have ideas or places that we can do bake sales, donation cans, food drives etc quickly please let me know. If you know how to write grants and can help me get more of them out please let me know.  

We have fought hard and have done miracles and we are being recognized on a national level for what we have accomplished in 4 years but the bottom line is the economy is finally kicking us in the rear and no matter what amazing things we have accomplished we still need financial support to keep doing it.

Thanks for all you have done in the past 4 years - I know we can pull together and make it another 4!!! It takes a village...
